A Bit About Us

Debbie and Shorty.jpeg

Debbie

Founder-President

Debbie has been living on Anna Maria with her husband Gary since 2011. Originally from Long Island, New York, she has lived with dogs all her life and now has a full pack at home. Her husband Gary shares her passion for pets and supports her in every way.

Debbie has been volunteering for different rescue organizations and shelters since 2016, doing everything from walking dogs and supporting fund raising efforts to vetting adopters to finding the perfect home for a rescue’s available dog.  At one of these organizations, she fell for two beautiful pitbulls that needed a home. She adopted them both, and with love, patience, and training, showed them a much better life.

Watching the transition from shelter dog to beloved pet has inspired her to continue her efforts to improve the lives of these often misunderstood animals.

Jessica

 Secretary

Jessica is dedicated to the well-being of our furry friends. With a heart brimming with love for animals, Jessica has found her calling as a foster with AMI pup rescue. Her journey began with a simple desire to make a difference in the lives of homeless dogs, and it has blossomed into a profound commitment to helping them find their forever homes.
As a foster and registered nurse, Jessica opens her home and her heart to dogs in need, providing them with a safe and nurturing environment where they can heal and thrive. From abandoned strays to neglected seniors, Jessica welcomes each canine with open arms, offering them the love and care they deserve.
With patience and dedication, Jessica works to help her foster dogs overcome any obstacles they may face, whether it's physical ailments, behavioral issues, or simply the trauma of past experiences. She understands that every dog is unique and deserving of a second chance, and she goes above and beyond to ensure that they receive the care and attention they need to flourish.
But Jessica’s commitment to rescue goes beyond just fostering. She is actively involved in every step of the adoption process, from screening potential adopters to facilitating meet-and-greets and home visits. She takes the time to get to know each dog on a personal level, advocating on their behalf to ensure they find the perfect match.
For Jessica, the greatest reward comes when she sees her foster dogs find their forever homes, knowing that she played a part in their journey to happiness. Just a little love and kindness can truly change the world—one dog at a time.
